Tarigami condemns killing of ‘mentally-disturbed’ youth, demands probe


Srinagar, Nov 3: Condemning the killing of a mentally-disturbed youth by security forces in Shopian early on Saturday morning, senior leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami demanded a probe.

A statement released here said, “Mr Targami termed the killing of a ‘mentally disturbed’ man by the army in Shopian district near the fence of an army camp as an unfortunate and condemnable incident.

As per reports, “The man was trying to walk into the army camp of 34 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) stationed at Pahnoo village of the district at around 0300 hrs, when the sentry manning a bunker shot him dead.

Expressing solidarity with the bereaved family, Mr Tarigami has demanded an immediate end to the civilian killings in the valley and demanded a probe in this case.
