Srinagar, Jan 5: A local court in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district has extended the judicial remand of Islamic Tanzeen-e-Azadi (ITeA) chief Abdul Samad Malla, alias Inquilabi till January 13.
Inquilabi, who was evading arrest for his alleged involvement in anti-national activities, was arrested in south Kashmir in last week of December.
However, he was later shifted to police station Sumbal, where he was wanted in anti-national activities case.
He was later remanded to judicial custody till yesterday by Sumbal court, where he break his fast against alleged torture in police station.
Inquilabi was remanded to judicial custody and shifted to central Jail, Srinagar by a court in Bandipora. The court also directed jail authorities to provide treatment to Inquilabi, who has also filed a case in Bandipora seeking a compensation of Rs 10 crore for his frequent arrest during the past 25 years.
