In Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday, the Indian and Pakistan Armies traded fire on the Line of Control (LoC), defence sources said.

At the Digwar sector in Poonch district, the Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked firing at Indian posts.

To target Indian positions, they used small arms and automatics.

Indian Army retaliated strongly and effectively. No casualty or damage was reported on the Indian side.

Meanwhile, the early morning exchange of gunfire between the armies of India and Pakistan deployed on Line of Control (LoC) in Dalhaan area of Poonch sector broke sleep of people living in Poonch town where the firing was clearly audible.

“As it was Sunday, I was sleeping till 8 AM when my family members woke me up in view of the exchange of heavy gunfire on the LoC. I heard the gun fires for some time,” Ramesh Kumar from Poonch said.
