Bharat Darshan Tour of 40 students i.e. 22 girls and 18 boys hailing from remote areas of Jammu region culminated on 28 Jan 2019.

A colorful closing ceremony organized at BSF Frontier HQ Paloura, Shri N S Jamwal, IG BSF Jammu and other BSF officials welcomed the students and interacted with them. This capacity building tour was flagged off by Sh.N S Jamwal, IG BSF on 22 Jan 2019. As part of Confidence building measures, girls and boys students haling from remote border area of Jammu region enjoyed the visit to various historical and cultural places i.e Akshar Dham, Connaught Place, Humanyun Tomb, Lal Qilla, Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple, IGI Airport, India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhawan, National Zoological Park New Delhi, Rajghat, in Delhi, Buland Darwaja Jodha Mahal ,Panch Mahal and other historical places in Fatehput Sikri, world famous Taj Mahal in Agra, Indo-Pak border at BOP Octrol, Bagh-e-Bahu , Aquarium and Amar Place in Jammu.

The students were overwhelmed to visit Taj Mahal the seventh wonder of the world. The students also got the opportunity to witness spectacular Republic Day parade at Rajpath, Delhi on 26th Jan. The students were also called on by Sh. R K Mishra, Director General BSF and were thrilled to interact with him. The tour has been organized by BSF Jammu Frontier to give them an opportunity to see the diversity of the our nation and to widened their horizons.

While addressing the students, Sh N S Jamwal IG BSF, emphasised on the importance of studies as well as games in a life of a student. He also motivated students try to bring positive change in society through expericences they have gained in the tour. IG BSF also shared valuable experinces of his life and urged students always ready to face challanges rather than escaping them.

The Bharat Darshan Tours for the children from Jammu & Kashmir were started by BSF in the year 2001 and has been an annual feature of BSF Jammu Frontier since then. The entire expenditure on the tour, starting from Dresses, Travel Expenses, Boarding, Lodging is sustained by BSF. The children are selected for Bharat Darshan as a part of intensive civic action programme of the force from remote and backward areas of the border. This tour is conducted to give them insights into the rich historical, cultural and social profile of the country and the progress made in social, political and Industrial fields. The tour also aims at inculcating them a sense of pride for the nation. Till date 660 children from J&K have participated in BSF sponsored 18 Bharat Darshan Tours.
